Estate Planning and End of Life Planning

Helping you to prepare

Estate Planning and End of Life Planning can be scary and overwhelming because we often think about them in terms of our death. I like to reframe this as an act of love for your loved ones.

The paperwork following a death is intense and immediate. It flows toward the spouse, child, executor, or trustee like rushing water. Once it begins, the only way to stop the demands on the person’s time and energy are by finishing each item task-by-task. Very rarely are those tasks simple and they often involve multiple attempts to achieve the desired result. In some cases, friends and family are dealing with paperwork more than a year after the death.

The Gift of Planning

End of Life and Estate Planning create guardrails and pathways for that rushing flow of paperwork at the end of one’s life. While it is not easy for us to do while we are alive; a well-planned death is a wonderful gift to pass on to your loved ones after you die.

Planning Is Unique in Each Case

End-of-Life planning is unique for each client.  Some clients know exactly what they want and others are starting their process.  Wherever you are in your process, A Secure Plan, LLC will work with you to ensure your needs are met.  Each document you create and/or update will be another way of easing the pain of your loss for your loved ones.  The more decisions you make will decrease the number of decisions your loved ones will need to make while they are grieving your loss.  A Secure Plan, LLC works with professionals you may need to complete your End-of-Life plan.

Estate Planning and End of Life Planning are about team work.

A Secure Plan team member will work with you to review your current documents, compile necessary information and work with you on new documents and plans. Some of the documents you will need must be created or modified by an attorney, others need an accountant, and still others need a financial planner.

You, as the client, are at the center of the team’s work. A Secure Plan team member will work with the professionals with whom you already have relationships or we can recommend other professionals who would be a good fit for your needs. All of these professionals know how important End of Life and Estate Planning are and that this is an act of love from you to your loved ones.
